Volkswagen Brazil is anticipating the rules providing for the mandatory installation of front airbags and ABS brakes on all cars sold in Brazil from 2014. The line 2011 Fox Prime, Golf Sportline, Sportline Polo, Polo Sedan Comfortline and CrossFox already has two safety features as standard.
By the end of 2010, Brazilian law provides an index of 8% of frontal airbag application and brake ABS models produced by each brand. Currently, about 20% of the cars sold by Volkswagen have ABS braking system and front airbags, a percentage that is even greater in high-end models. The New Prime Fox, Polo Sedan Comfortline cartell and Sportline Polo are also available in version I-Motion, with automated transmission ASG. The Golf Sportline may have manual transmission or 5-speed automatic Tiptronic 6-speed.
