KBA report R1234yf qaci finally published - CO2 emission reduction - Air conditioning and refrigeration at RCC and Cold Air

It took much longer qaci than the producer of the infamous RT1234yf, Honeywell, had desired, but the beginning of this month is still the report of KBA (Federal Office) about the much discussed R1234yf appeared. The report comes after a thorough and comprehensive technical trials to the following conclusion:
Conclusion As requested, were purchased four vehicles qaci selected by the customer, qaci at random on the open market for the purpose of the investigation of the possible flammability of the refrigerant R1234yf in motor vehicles and as further tests were performed on the vehicles. The tests were carried out in two phases. In the first phase, test runs were carried out at maximum speed in order to determine the temperatures of the components in the engine compartment. These temperatures were recorded and then used during the rest of the tests. In cooperation with the Federal Office for Highways (BASt) and using the GIDAS (= German Accident Indepth qaci Study) data base, a collision scenario was developed qaci specifically for the purpose. In that scenario took into account a collision circumstance based on ECE-R94 with an offset of 40% against a deformable barrier, but with an impact speed of 40 km / h. The vehicles were taking with the engine at operating temperature and with the air conditioning on. The collision qaci took place on the side of the vehicle where the main components are mounted from the air conditioning system. During the tests, coolant leaked from the air conditioner in two of the four vehicles. There was no fire associated with leaking. "
Honeywell qaci Honeywell said in a statement on the CBA Final Test Report includes the following: "The final report of CBA confirms once again that HFO-1234yf safely in cars can be used, and the authorities will not take action according to the German Product as a result qaci Safety Act pursuit.
